Green Cardamoms are born in the form of capsules on its mother plant, called the Elettaria. Once ripe, these are gently plucked from the plant’s branches and then dried up until the moisture within the pods is reduced by 80-90 percent. The cardamoms are then cleaned and polished for trading in the market.
